Amazon.com For those who believe true love lasts beyond this physical plane, P.S. I Love You is a jewel in the romantic-movie crown. With elements of Ghost, Heaven Can Wait, and My Life, the film is an unabashed valentine to the notion of lasting (everlasting?) love. Hilary Swank is Holly, a deeply happy lass married to the most impossibly adorable Irishman on the planet, Gerry (Gerard Butler). When an illness takes him from her, Holly spirals into depression. Then, as if from beyond the grave, communications, gifts, and remembrances from Gerry begin to appear--gestures he'd planned knowing his death was coming. The "communications" with her dead husband could threatened to keep Holly in past, yet they begin to pave a path into her future. Swank, not a traditional romantic actress, is quite moving as Holly, whose grief and confusion is palpable. Butler will win new continents of fans, largely female, as the yummiest honey one could wish for. Special kudos to the supporting cast, including Lisa Kudrow as a Holly pal, and James Marsters and Kathy Bates, always breaths of fresh air onscreen. Under the sure hand of director-writer Richard LaGravenese, P.S. I Love You is touching, sad (have tissues on hand), and heartbreakingly lovely. --A.T. Hurley

A really nice movie November 15, 2008 My bf bought my this dvd and it was great. I cried a lot... so, ladies... something to cry and feel that u NEED to apreciate more what u have or the ppl that are around u, then... its the perfect movie...
P.S. Grab some Kleenex November 15, 2008 P.S. I love you is a very good movie. Though the movie starts out in a 10 minute argument followed by complete confusion if you haven't read a review it tackles and tugs on every emotion a movie goer should have for this type of film. From a males perspective, it was a little tough to get into at first but the movie grows on you as it continues. Though my wife was multiple times from the first 10 minutes on the emotions gradually grew on me as well.
The story is really about true love and how it can continue on after death. It is also a story of a husband who over time gives his surviving wife the ability to move on with her life as she knows it. There are times when you want to cry, laugh, smile and just think about the story of this movie and imagine that something like this really could happen.
The movie at times can frustrate you all the way until the end but aren't unexpected movie endings something all viewers crave? You will get that and more in P.S. I love you. After I watched I thought this is a 4 star movie but thinking about it a day later I realized there are not many films out there that can grab every sense of emotion you have and pull you along for the ride. So it is a post movie 5 star rating. Enjoy
One of the best romantic comedys I have ever seen: November 15, 2008 It is very rare that after viewing a movie I want to watch it again, this movie was so good, I re-watched it immediately. Yes it is that good.
I will state that I'm a guy, and yes by the end of the film the flood gates were open. You will definitely want to keep the tissues handy while viewing.
The movie takes you through a whole range of emotions, from crying tears of sadness, to tears of joy, and back again.
The characters are wonderful, the story is great, the soundtrack is awesome. A+++ all the way.
What are you waiting for, watch the movie already.
Happy Watching!
Electrolux Oxygen canister vacuum October 29, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We are pleased with this purchase, the vacuum is easy to use, efficient and quiet. Only problem is that the cord will not stay out (always in the rewind mode). Since the machine has a 2 year warranty this is only a slight problem and while we wait for the new rewind mechanism a clothspin works just fine!
A Lively and lovely Irishman! October 15, 2008 It is incredible to know that Gerry will be dead in the beginning of this very romantic film! Gerard Butler (Gerry) and Hilary Swank (Holly) have great chemistry indeed. Gerry loves Holly so much that before dying of a brain cancer leaves her several letters, each one with a different and uplifting message and advice so that she can continue with her life without him, all of these letters ending with a "P.S. I love you"! Their most important and touching moments together are showed in flashbacks, really romantic, funny and also showing breathtaking scenery from Ireland, Gerry's homeland. Here we can feel and see how love is so strong that can overcome death. If you believe in love and is in the mood for a well told story, watch this movie. I ordered the book and am looking forward to reading it to compare it to the film. People say the film is much better... I'll return with my book review later... Cheers, friends! Live your lives full of love. That' what really matters!
