Product Description Accept no imitations or limitations. There is only one Timex IRONMAN* Triathlon. Stylish enough for the weekend warrior, technical enough for the extreme athlete. Don't swim, bike, run, jump, climb, throw, or kick without one.
Amazon.com Product Description Combining GPS location data with heart rate monitoring, the svelte Timex Ironman Triathlon Bodylink System (model T5F011) is a great choice for serious and professional runners, providing latitude and longitude, altitude/elevation data, exact real-time/average/maximum speed, and pace calculation. It offers a stylish one-piece watch and band construction with a silver bezel accented with a red interior. No GPS calibration is needed and it offers 99 percent distance accuracy in environments with a clear view of the sky. Speed and Distance features include tracking of your workout distance (with target distance alerts), continuous odometer for total distance for a workout or group of workouts, and a predictive finish time mode that uses total event distance and pace data. The heart rate monitor features include: - Target Zones: Preset your desired heart rate exercise zone. Alarm notification when you are not in zone.
- Average Heart Rate: Displays your average heart rate over a period of time.
- Time In Zone: Amount of time spent within your selected heart rate target zone.
- Four Linked Interval Timers: Program up to four linked timers each interval with its own target zone.
- Recovery Heart Rate Timer: Measure your heart rate after a timed recovery.
- Max Heart Rate Zone Calculation: Automatically sets your five training zones; one manual zone.
- Digital Transmission: Timex's system protects your data from other heart rate monitors and most exercise equipment.
- Automatically sets your five training zones; three manual zone settings.
This watch also provides: - 3-line customizable display
- Summary Mode: review navigational, speed, distance and heart rate performance data at end of workout
- 100-hour chronograph with either lap/split in large digits,
- 100-lap memory with recall of Bodylink system data
- 2 linked interval timers
- 100-hour, 3-mode countdown timer
- 5 alarms for daily, weekday, weekend or weekly with 5-minute backup
- Up to 2 year battery life
- Included bike mount
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving--and the GPS sensor is splash resistant. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.

Worst Purchase EVER! August 19, 2008 This watch was ridiculous! I tried 4 different times to get this watch to work on long runs. Only once did I get the GPS to connect to the watch. I thought for $165 I could get a decent alternative to the Garmin - I was wrong. I have returned the watch, which is a WHOLE story in itself. I still haven't gotten credited for the return after 2 weeks. I called Jomashop, which Amazon outsourcers to and after sitting on hold for 20 minutes was told I would get my refund maybe in a week. Hum.............Not a great shopping experience.
Great product! June 27, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had the Timex Body Link for 3 year and absolutely love it! Using the heart rate monitor & GPS is very simple, all you have to do is turn them on push the red display button and they start working. There are also a number of different display settings for enthusiasts to customize.
The watch comes with a heart rate monitor (chest strap) and a GPS piece. The GPS comes with a arm band and belt clip accessories. This is not a watch with GPS built in like Garmin watches.
Timex also sells a data recorder that works with the Body Link system, but I would not buy it again since the software that comes with it is pretty worthless. Besides, most of the information you would want to track can be stored in the watch and written down later.
Pros: - Easy to get started with - 100 lap memory - Loads of different display modes - Reasonably small compared to other GPS watches - Great price - Heart rate recovery timer
Cons: - GPS needs a lot of "open" sky to work properly, if you plan on running on forest trails or in the city with a lot of high rise buildings the GPS can't lock on to enough satellites.
Excellent product June 25, 2008 Really a great combo with the heart rate monitor. It's very accurate and makes working out more enjoyable. Knowing how far and fast you have gone provides motivation to do even better the next time. Technically, a very good product but also great for making you work harder.
Read instructions October 16, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Disregard the first review. You need to stand still for about 30 seconds and the GPS will link. If you move around a lot, such as walking, it will have trouble linking. Recommendation is to read the instructions.
Works Sometimes January 6, 2007 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
During my lunch period I like to walk 2 to 3 miles. It takes the sensor, device located on my hip, about 1/2 mile before it finally kicks in even if I should change the sensor battery. Once it kicks in it works great, monitors the distance and speed of my walk. I'am disappointed in the inconsistant operation of this device.
