From the makers of the original Swiss Army Knife, this "flight" version of a removable USB memory stick does not include Swiss Army Knife tools so it can pass airport-security checks. Protected by a handsome 2-1/4-inch translucent-ruby housing with key ring, the memory stick stores 1 GB of data such as music, photos, and text files for convenient transportation. The housing displays the Swiss Army Knife's famed Swiss-flag logo of white cross against a red background. Accompanying the memory stick is a USB cable for connecting to PCs and MACs. In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The forerunner of that name dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor or versatility.

The twist is the USB drive. It works great but the plastic sleeve on the drive is not worthy if being in this knife. It is flimsy and will break. Mine did after only a handful of removals from the knife. It still works after some super glue and I just use it separately as a thumb drive. I now have a nice pen knife with a big hole in it. If your are not going to ever remove it from the knife it is fine. An aluminum or steel sleeve with a steel hook instead of plastic would make all the difference. Plastic=Cheap/Flimsy, Not what this brand is known for. Just buy them separate.

Bought this so I could easily go through customs without hassle. I was stopped twice with the old all metal unit in my pocket. Now I just swap to this Flight unit and no more questions.

wouldn't have bought one of these, but i got one as a gift and i love it. I have other flash drives, but having it actually attched to my keychain is much more convenient. and having the rest of the swiss army knife is great. now that the prices are down I'd definitely recommend it.
