An interesting read September 1, 2010 Danielle Brown I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews regarding this book. I thought it had a lot of information that we women probably already knew but don't want to admit. Steve mentions that men aren't ready for serious commitments until they figure out who they are and want to be in life. I've come across a lot of men who say pretty much the same thing...they're not ready for kids or marriage until they are able to provide for a family. Until then a serious relationship probably isn't top priority. That is not to say that a couple can't build together from the ground up but think about it...how many couples do you know who have been able to do so successfully? I think we women want to be there when our men make it to the top just to say we had a hand in his success. The one thing that resonates with me is that women do have the power to choose who they want to be with and should not be afraid to asks questions or walk away from something that is clearly not going anywhere. Too often we ignore the little signs or shy away from serious questions all in the name of keeping a man. Often times we just end up waiting around and before you know it we invest years in a relationship that ends up going nowhere.
I didn't give the book 5 stars because I didn't find the random questions at the back very insightful. I can't believe that these women had a chance to ask any burning question on relationships and they came up with questions such as what do men think about weaves and plastic surgery. But I guess if that's what they really want to know....to each his own.
Usefull August 28, 2010 Helga I found this book very interesting from the first look to the end of reading. It's good written, concise and usefull.
The thing that I liked the most was the sense of reading someones experince written on sincere way.........So, from the very end of reading I 'applied' some advices on my marriage, i.e. on relation to my husband.......and it works......:-))
Thank you!
Recommend August 28, 2010 Dee After reading the book, I have loaned it to at least 4 other people. Entertaining and provides insight.
Act Lkike a Lady, Think Like a Man August 26, 2010 cp I purchased this book after hearing all the discussion about how interesting the book was. I must say, the book is a good read and kudos to Steve for trying to hip the ladies on something that their parents should have already taught them!!!!
it's time for some evolution August 24, 2010 E. Williams (Atlanta, GA) My anthropology professor once hypothesized: women have domesticated men.
By mating with the males who are willing to "settle down" we have been favoring genes that are more family-oriented, sociable, committed, etc.
Back in the day a weaker female might have not had a choice if a random hunk decided to just impregnate her and thus spread his only-sex-seeking DNA.
Now, however, you have various ways of protecting yourself.
So, have fun with the "bad boys" but use a condom and save having babies for the good, loyal, loving man who can use his big head to control the small one.
Sooner or later the DNA of the "simple guys" will die out.
Might take generations and millennia, but ultimately you hold the power.
And one more note to guys: if you claim that you are intelligent, smart, thinking HUMAN beings, you would grow up and stop hiding behind stupid excuses of not being able to control your own biology. "Oh, I'm JUST a man, I can't help it"
Use your brain and try!
Otherwise, any of your claims of superiority over women are null.
